At the dentist
There is no week in Thailand that I don't use my medical card or test their medical services - with which I am satisfied so far.
So remember, the first week, I discovered something in my lymphs - which was harmless, luckily, so I had to go to the hospital. The following week, I went to a blood test - my thyroid results came out perfect so I could eventually stop the medicine for a while. :-) Then again, school sent me for another blood test, which was needed for my work permit - good results as it could be predicted.
Then on Thai days, we prepared a dessert, called Chuk Lup (or Chup Luk? can't remember anymore), which contained a lot of artificial coloring, so I got a skin rash (it was Loy Krathong and I was itchy all my body along!), then I had a nightmare. I dreamt I spent a whole day at the dentist's so I took it as a sign and walked into the clinic to book an appointment.
Luckily, nothing major, only one of my fillings started to lose its colour - never thought it could happen, plus, Doctor Oh also removed all my calculi. She also mentioned that my wisdom teeth should have been taken out before the age of 30 so I booked an appointment for it during my December break. Oh my... at least I'll have 3 weeks to recover without school. (And a whole month to be afraid of it now.)
By the way, I chose the clinic which is on my street and so far I'm really satisfied with the service. The queue wasn't long and I was called in right at the appointed time. There are 4-5 dentists working at the same time in the clinic. The dentist's room was super clean and the most modern I've seen so far. The items had no sounds! It was quite silent, but Dr Oh did not only explain everything (what's happening, what she's doing with my teeth), but her assistant also handed me a mirror that I could follow up with the events.
I would say I can't wait to go back - no, I'm absolutely not looking forward to the operation of the wisdom teeth but I have faith in the clinic and in the helpful doctors. All in all, it wasn't a bad experience.
Oh, and about the price: for all the time (45 mins approximately and making "order" around all of my teeth), I was charged 1000 Baht (10 000 Ft, ~ 30 $), which is not a bad price (for me). I can imagine though that this is a lot for someone who's on Thai salary. I've also heard though that Thailand has the reputation of its odontologists: many people come here from abroad to fix their dental situations and they take a short vacation before/after it, as well.
